National FFA Week, the Minnesota FFA Foundation launched Give FFA Day, a one-day giving campaign that took place on February 22, 2024. This initiative provided an opportunity for supporters of agricultural education and the FFA to contribute to the strength and growth of these programs.
Donations were accepted through the Minnesota FFA Foundation website at www.mnffafoundation.org, where contributors were encouraged to participate on Give FFA Day. The foundation aimed to showcase the impact of these donations by sharing stories directly from local FFA students, Agricultural Education teachers, as well as donors and sponsors, on their Facebook page (Minnesota FFA Foundation) throughout the day.
As an added incentive, the foundation conducted hourly prize drawings for donors, with one grand prize—a unique FFA Barn Quilt—being awarded at the end of the day. Supporters who made a donation during a specific hour were automatically entered into the drawing for that hour's prize.
The funds raised on Give FFA Day were directed towards supporting teachers in the field. All proceeds contributed to the advancement of Minnesota Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resource Science teachers statewide. The goal was to express gratitude and provide assistance to these educators who have navigated challenging years in teaching.
The focus of the day was on acknowledging the nearly 16,000 Minnesota FFA members and highlighting the positive impact of Agriculture Education teachers on their lives. By participating in Give FFA Day, individuals had the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution that directly supported teachers and reinforced the importance of agricultural education in the state.
