Beef and dairy producers, feed sellers, and industry professionals are invited to a free educational event focusing on cow efficiency and forage production.
Organized by the Minnesota Dairy Initiative and University of Minnesota Extension, the event will take place on July 8 at the Pipestone County Fairgrounds, located at 10th Ave SE, Pipestone. The program runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and includes a complimentary lunch.
Leading industry professionals and university specialists will discuss the importance of cow efficiency in both beef and dairy operations and share strategies to maximize tonnage and profitability per alfalfa acre.
The schedule for the event is as follows:
10 to 11 a.m.: Optimizing beef cow nutrition and management.
11 a.m. to noon: Alfalfa Persistence is Profit.
Noon to 12:45 p.m.: Lunch.
12:45 to 1:15 p.m.: Panel discussion with morning presenters, including Wade Kidman of Chandler Feed Company and Justin Decker, conservation agronomist.
1:15 to 2 p.m.: Updates in haying equipment and forage preservation with an equipment demonstration by Sterling Equipment, C&B Operations, and Gorter’s Clay & Dairy Equipment.
This event provides a valuable opportunity for producers to learn from experts and discuss ways to improve their operations' efficiency and profitability.
