The University of Minnesota Extension Crops team is inviting input from individuals involved in crop production and related agricultural work to help improve future educational programs. The goal is to better understand learning needs, interests, and preferences related to row crops and forage production.
“We want to hear from you!” The Crops team is seeking responses from those involved in crop operations as well as agriculture professionals who work closely with crop growers. This includes individuals connected to crop advising, seed sales, pesticide application, grain buying, and other support services within the agricultural industry.
The survey is designed to gather information about operations, preferred learning styles, and how participants want to engage with Extension programs. By collecting this feedback, the Crops team aims to develop educational resources that are practical, relevant, and easy to access. The information shared will help guide future workshops, online resources, field programs, and educational materials.
The needs assessment survey is anonymous and is expected to take about 12 to 15 minutes to complete. All responses will be used only to improve Extension programming and ensure it meets the needs of those working in crop production and support roles.
University of Minnesota Extension emphasizes that understanding the needs of its audience is essential to delivering useful and effective education. The survey will help identify priority topics, preferred delivery formats, and areas where additional support or training may be helpful.
Participants are encouraged to share honest feedback about what topics matter most to them and how they prefer to receive information. This may include preferences for in-person programs, virtual learning, written materials, or other formats.
The Extension Crops team values collaboration and community input. By completing the survey, participants play a direct role in shaping future crop education efforts across the region. The feedback will help ensure programs remain responsive to changing needs and emerging challenges in crop production.
Those interested in participating can complete the needs assessment survey online. The survey link is available at https://z.umn.edu/CropsNeedsSurvey. Input from this survey will help refine Extension programming to make it useful, relevant, and engaging for those involved in crop agriculture.
