From Farm to Future - Syngenta Seeds Nurtures the Next Agribusiness Stars

Syngenta Seeds is launching a dual trainee pilot program in collaboration with South Central College and the State of Minnesota. Gavin Stevens, from Amboy, Minnesota, is one of the selected participants. This program provides young leaders with agricultural experience and academic credentials, fostering future leaders and supporting the agricultural industry.

Gavin Stevens, a Maple River High School graduate, started his apprenticeship with Syngenta Seeds in June. He plans to major in agribusiness at South Central College. Stevens, a member of Future Farmers of America, gained valuable knowledge on seed technology, safety practices, and teamwork through his experience at Syngenta Seeds.

The Dual Training Grant program in Minnesota collaborates with businesses like Syngenta to provide on-the-job training for employees in high-demand industries, particularly agriculture. This initiative aims to reduce the direct costs of related instruction, such as tuition, fees, books, and materials for dual trainees.

Goldberg emphasizes Syngenta Seeds' goal to nurture agronomists in production and supply organizations, emphasizing the need for innovative approaches in the agricultural industry.

Stevens sees this apprenticeship as a chance to expand his agriculture knowledge, having grown up on a small farm and joined Syngenta Seeds to understand seeds, safety protocols, and teamwork dynamics.

Syngenta Seeds and South-Central College collaborate to train the next generation of agribusiness professionals, providing hands-on experience and academic qualifications that will shape the future of agriculture.
