Registration is now open for FSMA Produce Safety Rule Grower Trainings offered by the University of Minnesota Extension, Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA), and experienced farmer trainers. Find additional info and register at https://bit.ly/3jyDLn9. These Grower Trainings are one of several produce safety-related educational options being offered this winter between MDA and Extension. These regulatory Grower Trainings meet the training requirements of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Produce Safety Rule for farms fully covered by the Produce Safety Rule. All growers interested in learning about produce safety, Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) and the FSMA Produce Safety Rule are welcome to attend.
Individuals who compete this training receive a certificate of attendance. These certificates, along with certificates from the non-regulatory Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) trainings offered by Extension, are also accepted as documentation of food safety training for the Produce Safety Mini Grant available through the Minnesota Department of Agriculture that will be open in February. (Training must be completed by March 11 to be used for this purpose).
