The University of Minnesota's Agriculture Experiment Station in St. Paul is set to host the 2024 Field School for Ag Professionals on July 30 and 31.
This premier event is tailored for agronomists, crop consultants, and others in the agricultural industry, offering a blend of foundational and cutting-edge training over two days.
First Day Focus: The first day kicks off with registration at 8:00 am, followed by a series of educational sessions starting at 9:00 am. Participants will delve into topics such as herbicide modes of action, crop injury symptoms, corn and soybean agronomics, pest identification, and soil functionality.
These sessions are not only informative but also offer six Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for Certified Crop Advisors.
Second Day Dynamics: The following day begins at the same time and features multiple concurrent sessions. Attendees can earn an additional six CEUs by participating in sessions that cover a wide range of topics from basic to advanced crop diagnostics, weed identification, scouting for pests like the European corn borer and corn rootworm, cover crop interactions with herbicides, and soil fertility sampling techniques.
For those interested in attending, early-bird registration is available until May 31 at $299 for both days and $169 for a single day. Prices increase slightly from June 1 until the final online registration deadline on July 16. Walk-in registrations are also welcomed at the event with fees set at $400 for both days or $230 for one day.
