Youth from across northern Minnesota participated in the 89th annual Northeast 4-H Livestock Show, held on Sept. 28-29 in Little Falls. This year, 289 participants from 18 counties, including nine from Hubbard County, took part in the event.
According to the show’s organizers, the event provides an educational platform for 4-H youth who earned blue ribbons at their county fairs to showcase their animal science projects.
The first day of the event focused on showmanship, where participants were judged on their ability to present their animals in a way that highlights the animal’s genetic qualities.
The second day featured species evaluation shows, including categories such as beef cattle, swine, meat goats, sheep, poultry, and rabbits.
