Meet the 2024-2025 Minnesota 4-H Agriculture Ambassadors

By Scout Nelson

The University of Minnesota Extension proudly introduces the 2024-2025 Minnesota 4-H Agriculture Ambassadors, a dedicated group of young leaders chosen from a competitive pool of applicants. These ambassadors were selected based on their passion for agriculture, involvement in 4-H, and their ability to serve as positive role models for 4-H youth across the state.

Throughout the year, the ambassadors will have numerous opportunities to develop their leadership skills and represent 4-H at various public events. Their responsibilities include speaking at key events like Farmfest, supporting agriculture-related 4-H activities such as crop scouting, and leading plant science programming, including day camps, workshops, and activities at the Minnesota State Fair.

The ambassadors represent counties from across the state. In the Central region, representatives include youth from Carver, Chisago, Dakota, Hennepin, McLeod, and Wright counties. The Northeast ambassadors come from Kanabec and North St. Louis counties, while the Northwest has representatives from Hubbard, Marshall, and Polk counties.

Southeast ambassadors hail from Houston, Olmsted, and Rice counties, and the Southwest is represented by youth from Martin, Nobles, and Swift counties.

Returning ambassadors, such as Miriam W. from Chisago County and Amanda S. from Olmsted County, bring valuable experience to the program, guiding new members as they step into their ambassador roles.

These young leaders will showcase the best of Minnesota 4-H, from crop science to livestock management, connecting with their communities and promoting agriculture education.

By participating in this program, the ambassadors not only support 4-H events but also help bridge the gap between agriculture and the public, encouraging young people to explore careers in agriculture. These youth leaders embody the spirit of 4-H, making a positive impact and shaping the future of agriculture in Minnesota.
