The Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) hosted its 106th Annual Meeting on November 21-23, 2023, at the Minneapolis Marriott Southwest in Minnetonka. The event brought together members to discuss agricultural challenges, review organization updates, and participate in educational and networking opportunities.
A key focus of the meeting was the grassroots policy development process. Local county issues were presented to state delegates, who adapted them into the MFBF policy book. These priorities will guide the organization’s work in the coming year.
The event also included leadership elections. Several leaders were re-elected to serve on the Board of Directors, while new members took on key roles for a one-year term. These elections ensure continued guidance and growth for the organization.
Competitions for Young Farmers & Ranchers were another highlight, including the Excellence in Agriculture contest, the Achievement Award, and the Discussion Meet. Winners from these competitions will represent Minnesota at the American Farm Bureau Annual Meeting in San Antonio, Texas, in January.
Scholarships were also awarded to six students through the Minnesota Farm Bureau Foundation. These scholarships, including the Al Christopherson and Paul Stark Memorial Scholarships, support young individuals pursuing their dreams in agriculture.
The 106th Annual Meeting celebrated Minnesota’s agricultural achievements, highlighted leadership, and emphasized the importance of education and innovation in farming communities. This event continues to serve as a cornerstone for fostering connections and addressing key issues within the agriculture sector.
