The second annual Urban Agriculture Conference, hosted by the Minnesota Farm Bureau, will take place this weekend at St. Paul College. This free event will offer urban farmers the opportunity to engage with industry leaders, connect with peers, and explore resources to enhance their farming practices.
The conference, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., includes panel discussions and networking sessions, focusing on key issues affecting urban agriculture and food systems. Participants will gain insights on advocacy, sustainability, and business growth in the urban farming sector.
Attendees will have access to expert-led discussions, including three panel sessions. The first panel, “How to be an Advocate,” will explore ways to influence policy and create positive change in urban agriculture. The second panel, “Growing the Next Generation,” will highlight education and mentorship programs that prepare future farmers. The final panel, “Diversifying Your Farm,” will discuss expanding farm operations and adapting to new markets.
Additionally, knowledge-sharing and networking opportunities will be available throughout the day, allowing participants to connect with organizations such as the University of Minnesota Extension, USDA, and the Minnesota Department of Agriculture.
The Urban Agriculture Conference serves as a valuable platform for farmers to access industry knowledge, resources, and support. With a strong focus on sustainability and innovation, this event continues to grow as an essential gathering for those involved in urban food production.
