Minnesota has produced exceptional farmers over the years. Recently, two from southern Minnesota were chosen for the esteemed Young Leader Program, an initiative by the American Soybean Association and Corteva Agriscience. Their journey will take them to Iowa's Corteva Global Business Center and the Houston Commodity Classic Convention in 2024.
One Minnesota farmer is working to improve soybean use rates and seeks insights from industry veterans. He started cultivating soybeans in 2017 and has expanded crop territories, custom combining, spraying, and seed sales. Despite a busy schedule, he values hard work and faith-based operations, believing faith drives them forward. He is eager to learn from industry veterans and understand the broader agricultural political scene.
Another selected participant, who grew up amidst farming, has a dual role. Alongside farming, he serves as a loan officer for Hometown Bank. His expertise lies in the Farm Service Agency guaranteed loan servicing. He's actively involved in the Renville County Corn and Soybean Growers Association and holds membership in the Minnesota Soybean Growers Association.
Both farmers symbolize the dedication and passion Minnesota holds for agriculture, eagerness to learn and contribute more to the farming community.
