Minnesota invites stakeholders to the kickoff event on June 10 to launch the 10-year update of the state's Nutrient Reduction Strategy. Established in 2014, the strategy aims to guide efforts in reducing nutrient pollution statewide.
Leaders from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture and the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency will lead the event, sharing insights into their contributions to the revision process. Attendees will gain an overview of the revision activities and understand how these agencies are working towards achieving nutrient reduction goals.
Throughout the revision process, state agencies will keep Minnesotans informed through web postings and informal information sessions. Public participation is encouraged, and feedback will be sought on the draft revision in the latter half of 2025.
The event marks the beginning of a collaborative effort to update the Nutrient Reduction Strategy, ensuring that Minnesota remains proactive in addressing nutrient pollution and safeguarding its water resources for future generations.
