GrazeHERs - unleash your inner livestock boss

GrazeHERs - unleash your inner livestock boss

By Scout Nelson

The Minnesota Grazing Lands Conservation Association (MNGLCA) is excited to announce the first GrazeHERs Grazing School, scheduled for June 4-5 at Little Timber Farms in Blackduck, Minnesota.

This event is uniquely tailored for women involved in the livestock industry, focusing on both beginners and those with more experience.

Hosted at a woman-owned heifer development operation, the school is designed to foster skills in pasture management, livestock nutrition, and more.

Presented by seasoned female agriculturists from Minnesota and South Dakota, the program will cover essential topics such as forage identification, manure distribution, multi-species grazing, and even aspects of rural mental health.

The two-day event will kick off each day with a theoretical session in a local hotel, followed by practical, hands-on training in the fields of Little Timber Farms. Attendees will not only gain valuable insights but also tools and resources to aid in decision-making on their farms.

The event promises ample opportunities for networking and one-on-one assistance with grazing plan development.

Registration for the GrazeHERs Grazing School is now open. Interested participants can sign up at mnglca.org to secure their spot. This educational gathering is a fantastic opportunity for women to enhance their agricultural skills and connect with peers in the industry.
