The vibrant energy of young livestock exhibitors will once again fill the Martin County Fairgrounds as the fifth annual Minnesota Youth Livestock Expo (MYLE) unfolds from June 27 to June 30 in Fairmont, Minnesota. This significant event gathers 4-H and FFA members along with other youth exhibitors from across the state.
Participants will showcase their well-groomed livestock, which includes beef, sheep, goats, and rabbits. These exhibits not only serve as a prelude to their presentations at county and state fairs later in the summer but also highlight the dedication and hard work of Minnesota's youth in agriculture.
The event schedule is packed with activities. Starting on June 27, the sheep showmanship kicks off at 3 p.m., followed by the breeding sheep show at 6 p.m.
The following day will feature the wether dam and market lamb competitions beginning at 8:30 a.m. On June 29, the fairgrounds will be bustling with beef and goat showmanship and a rabbit show, culminating in the market beef and prospect calf show.
The expo concludes on June 30 with the breeding beef and market goat shows, starting with a “cowboy prayer” and the national anthem.
The success of the MYLE Livestock Show is largely due to generous sponsorships and donations, which help cover the costs of the show and provide awards for the participants, celebrating their achievements and fostering their growth in agricultural practices.
