The 2025 MN Ag Expo, held in Mankato, proved to be a groundbreaking event for the agricultural community, drawing unprecedented numbers and featuring a variety of engaging discussions and presentations.

Darin Johnson, President of the Minnesota Soybean Growers Association (MSGA), played a pivotal role throughout the expo, from welcoming attendees to leading crucial industry discussions.

Johnson's involvement spanned multiple activities; he engaged with attendees at the Minnesota Soybean booth, participated in media talks, and discussed market strategies with significant partners.

His participation in a panel on sustainable aviation fuel highlighted the industry's shift towards environmentally friendly practices. Additionally, Johnson contributed to discussions on trade, biotechnology, and public research, showcasing his dedication to advancing agricultural interests in Minnesota.

The expo also served as a platform for networking and education. A significant focus was placed on mentoring young and emerging farmers, emphasizing the future of farming. The MSGA's annual meeting was a highlight, where key policy resolutions were approved, and industry leaders were honored for their contributions.

Notable was the presence of governmental figures, including a visit from Gov. Tim Walz, who discussed his administration's agricultural policies, underscoring the importance of Minnesota's role in global food production.

With sessions on biofuels and trade policy, the expo addressed some of the most pressing issues facing today’s farmers, offering insights into how biofuels like sustainable aviation fuel can significantly impact the industry.

As the expo concluded, the optimism was palpable, with plans already underway for the 2026 MN Ag Expo. Johnson summed up the event’s success, expressing enthusiasm for repeating the positive atmosphere and proactive discussions in future conferences. This event not only highlighted the challenges facing agriculture but also the innovative solutions and community spirit driving the industry forward.
