St. Cloud is gearing up for a crucial event aimed at supporting farm families through the intricate process of farm transition. Scheduled for the evening of March 8 and all day on March 9, this retreat offers an in-depth exploration of key issues like setting family and business goals, defining job responsibilities, understanding financial needs, and navigating inheritance and transfer mechanisms.
Hosted by experts Jim Molenaar from St. Cloud Technical and Community College, along with Susanne Hinrichs and Nathan Hulinsky from the University of Minnesota Extension, this event is designed for both retiring and incoming generations of farm families. It encourages the participation of spouses, partners, and other key stakeholders to foster a comprehensive planning approach.
Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, the retreat, including meals, is offered at no cost to participants. It's an unparalleled opportunity for families to engage in meaningful dialogue, receive guidance on financial and management aspects of farm transition, and develop actionable plans in a supportive environment.
The retreat's location details will be provided upon registration confirmation. This initiative represents a unique chance for farm families to access expert advice and peer support, ensuring a smooth transition for future generations.
