The Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) is set to host its second annual Urban Ag Conference on February 22, 2025, at St. Paul College. This free event provides a pivotal platform for urban farmers to connect with each other and with influential local and state leaders, discussing critical issues within urban agriculture and food systems.
The Urban Ag Conference is designed to support the growing community of urban farmers by providing access to crucial resources and networking opportunities. The event is free of charge, but interested attendees are required to register in advance to participate.
Rachel Reisig, MFBF Director of Communications and the coordinator for the conference, expressed enthusiasm about the recurring event's potential impact. "Last year's conference brought a wave of energy and enthusiasm. We're eager to build on that success and bring our community together again to foster connections and growth," Reisig stated.
The conference schedule includes three key panel discussions: How to Be an Advocate, Growing the Next Generation, and Making Your Urban Farm Economically Viable. These sessions aim to address the unique challenges urban farmers face and explore practical solutions that can be implemented to enhance their operations and sustainability.
In addition to panel discussions, the conference will feature resource and knowledge-sharing sessions with various local and state agencies, as well as other organizations involved in urban agriculture. These sessions are designed to equip attendees with the information and connections needed to thrive in urban farming.
Details about the conference, including a full schedule and speaker information, are available on the MFBF website. This event promises to be an informative and empowering gathering for anyone involved in or interested in urban agriculture, providing them with the tools and knowledge necessary to succeed in this evolving sector.
