Licensed pesticide applicators can complete their 2026 recertification through an online, self-guided course designed for categories A: Core and C: Field Crops, Fruits and Vegetables. The course opens on January 12, 2026, and participants have until February 23, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. to finish all requirements. Applicators may choose one or more categories when registering.
This recertification option is designed for commercial and noncommercial applicators who must renew their credentials in 2026. The cost is $70 for each category, and registration closes on January 8, 2026. Separate registration is required for every category selected. The registration page provides additional details about deadlines, fees, refund policies, and learning options.
This course is delivered entirely online, and students can work at their own pace. To participate, applicators must use a laptop or desktop computer. Cell phones and tablets are not supported. Participants must also have a working camera, speakers, and a stable internet connection. The course requires downloading a monitoring program and uploading a photo of a government-issued ID and a pesticide applicator license card.
All coursework must be completed by the final deadline, with no exceptions or extensions. Only individuals who are officially registered will receive course credit. Name changes are not permitted.
The University of Minnesota Extension remains committed to equal access for all learners. Those needing accommodation should contact the event contact at least two weeks before the course begins. Interpreter services may be available if requested in advance.
Technical assistance is available through the UMN Helpdesk at help@umn.edu or 612-301-4357, including help with passwords and login issues. Additional in-person and online training options can be found on the Commercial/Non-commercial Pesticide Safety page.
This online offering gives applicators a flexible and convenient way to stay certified and maintain safety standards for pesticide use.
