The annual Morris celebration Prairie Harvest Fest takes place at the Stevens County Fairgrounds Sept. 16 to 18. It is organized by Heartland Motor Company.
Friday kicks off this event with the outdoor showing of the movie "Minions" beginning at 8 p.m. with concessions available.
Saturday has a full lineup of activities, including craft and retail vendors from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., gem stone mining from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the 6th annual car show from 1 to 4 p.m., the grand parade at 4:30 p.m., fireworks at dusk and live music from 8 p.m. to midnight.
Prairie Harvest Fest wraps on Sunday with a pancake feed at the Morris Fire Department from 8 to 11 a.m. and Septemberfest at Assumption Church from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Debby Olson, with Hartland Motor Company, said, "We really want everybody to come out and keep celebrating the town of Morris. This event kind of replaces Prairie Pioneer Days, if people are familiar with that, so we're just hoping to keep it going and keep something around in Morris for everybody to celebrate at the beginning of fall here."
Entry, parking and activities for Prairie Harvest Fest are free.
