Minnesota farmers, landowners, and conservation partners are invited to attend the annual Rosholt Research Farm Field Day on August 21, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at 910 Old Highway 28, Westport. This hands-on event will present the latest updates in soil health and nutrient management.
Organized by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture in partnership with Pope and Stearns Conservation Districts, the event is free to attend. However, registration is required by August 13. Lunch will be provided to all registered participants.
The field day will include several presentations and live demonstrations, offering practical insights into:
- Nitrogen use in irrigated corn with cover crops
- Irrigation and nitrogen management strategies
- Soil health assessment techniques and erosion control methods
- Drone seeding of cover crops
Attendees will observe ongoing research trials and engage with experts focused on sustainable farming practices that protect natural resources and boost productivity across the region.
According to the organizers, “Participants will see ongoing research trials and learn from experts working to promote sustainable farming practices across Minnesota.”

This field day promotes better understanding and practical use of science-backed solutions for building soil health and effective nutrient use.
