At the much anticipated 102nd National Intercollegiate Dairy Cattle Judging Contest held at the World Dairy Expo®, University of Minnesota emerged triumphant among 19 schools. The team, securing a score of 2,545, didn't just claim the top spot but also led in reasons.
The team comprised notable names like Ben Styer, Isaac Rott, Kelsey Biel, and Haley Buekema. Guiding these students were Dr. Les Hansen, Eric Houdek, and Gabriella Houdek.
Individual achievements were equally commendable. Ben Styer clinched the first spot, while Isaac Rott settled in third. Cornell University and Virginia Tech finished second and third respectively in the team category.
Other teams showcasing exceptional talent included Iowa State University and University of Wisconsin-Platteville, both making it to the top five. Moreover, ten top-performing teams and individuals received special recognition, emphasizing the depth of talent present.
It wasn't just about winning; it was about skills, strategy, and passion. It was about young individuals making informed decisions, exhibiting impeccable reasoning abilities, and demonstrating their expertise in dairy cattle judgment.
