The University of Minnesota Extension, in partnership with the Hutchinson Chamber of Commerce, is excited to host the 2025 Crop Management Input Seminar. This annual event will take place on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Crow River Winery in Hutchinson, Minnesota. Tickets are $20 per person at the door, or they can be obtained through event sponsors and the McLeod County Extension Office. The seminar includes opportunities for education, networking, and a catered lunch.
The program will feature a range of expert presentations tailored to help growers and industry professionals optimize their crop management strategies.
Attendees will hear from Anna Cates on maximizing cover crops, Fabian Fernandez on nitrogen management in poorly drained soils, and Debalin Sarangi on incorporating non-chemical tools into weed control programs. Additional presentations will include:
- Dave Nicolai discussing soybean and corn variety selection for 2025
- Dean Malvick on notable corn and soybean diseases from 2024
- Kent Thiesse on cash flow planning amid challenging financial times
During the seminar, the Hutchinson Chamber of Commerce Agribusiness Committee will present the “Ag Person of the Year Award,” recognizing an individual for their contributions to the agricultural community.
“The event will provide growers with valuable knowledge and strategies, enabling them to make informed decisions for the upcoming year,” said the Hutchinson Chamber of Commerce.

The cost for attendance is $20 per ticket, with no pre-registration required.
