Free tax planning webinar for farmers scheduled by UMN extension

By Scout Nelson

Farmers, lenders, and agricultural professionals have a valuable opportunity to enhance their tax planning strategies through a free webinar presented by the University of Minnesota Extension's Ag Business Management team.

This informative session, led by Extension educator Rob Holcomb, is scheduled for Friday, December 15, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Central time, and will be conducted via Zoom.

Key topics of the webinar include the Corporate Transparency Act, updates on Employee Retention Credit (ERC), soil fertility management, depreciation techniques, and handling debt forgiveness or cancellation for FSA Loans. The webinar will cover updates on estate tax, expiring provisions, and general tax planning strategies.

The event is designed to be beneficial for a broad audience including farm producers, lenders, and adult farm management instructors. The webinar's focus on current tax issues and solutions aims to provide participants with practical knowledge to navigate the complexities of farm taxation effectively.

Registration is required to attend the webinar. In line with the University of Minnesota Extension's commitment to inclusivity, accommodation for persons with disabilities are available upon request. Those interested should contact Rob Holcomb at holcombr@umn.edu two weeks prior to the event for arrangements.

A recording of the webinar will be made available by December 20, ensuring that those who cannot attend the live session still have access to this crucial information.
