At the Minnesota Cattle Industry Convention, held December 6–7 at River’s Edge Convention Center in St. Cloud, the Minnesota Beef Council awarded the Prime Promoter of the Year to the Three Rivers Cattlemen’s Association.
This prestigious award, introduced in 2017 by the Minnesota Beef Council and the Beef Checkoff Program, recognizes organizations that demonstrate outstanding dedication to promoting beef throughout the year.
Three Rivers Cattlemen’s Association, a nonprofit group representing multiple counties in Minnesota, has consistently supported beef producers, youth, and the public through education and advocacy.
The association’s efforts include hosting workshops and events that focus on cow/calf and feedlot production, beef cooking, and nutritional benefits. They actively give back to youth organizations like 4-H and FFA and offer scholarships for students pursuing agriculture-related studies.
A standout initiative is the association’s involvement in local events, including the popular Burger Barn at the Goodhue County Fair, where unique items like the “Raging Bull Burger” draw crowds. Additional activities include grilling at community festivals and supporting cattle shows, making beef accessible and celebrated across the region.
The association also maintains an active social media presence, sharing insights on beef benefits and updates from the Minnesota Beef Council and State Cattlemen’s Association. This online engagement broadens their reach and promotes the beef industry effectively.
Presenting the award at the convention, representatives highlighted the association’s ongoing commitment to advancing the beef industry and connecting with both producers and consumers.
The group’s achievements underscore the value of grassroots efforts in supporting local agriculture.
The Three Rivers Cattlemen’s Association continues to serve as a model for promoting beef and fostering a strong agricultural community.
