The Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) communications team invites you to attend the organization's 104th Annual Meeting, Nov. 17-19, at the DoubleTree Hotel in Bloomington.
The MFBF Annual Meeting brings together the organization's grassroots membership to surface and discuss issues facing agriculture, along with general organization updates, educational opportunities and networking. A full schedule is available here, but highlights include:
Nov. 18
9 a.m. - Voting Delegate Session - the culmination of the grassroots policy development process, where issues surfaced by MFBF members at the county level are voted on for consideration for adoption into the state policy book. At the end of the policy voting portion, the election for MFBF State Board of Directors positions of Vice President, District II Director and District V Director will also be held.
10 a.m. - American Farm Bureau Federation Ag Innovation Challenge Semi-Finalist Brad Hennen will present his product, the Hennen Pig Chute, in preparation for his pitch on the national stage at the AFBF Annual Convention Jan. 6 in Puerto Rico. He will also be recognized during Friday night's awards banquet.
2:30 p.m. - See the next generation of agriculture spotlighted during the the three MFBF Young Farmers & Ranchers competitions.
5:30 p.m. - The annual Awards Banquet will take place, recognizing award winners in the following areas: Distinguished Service to Agriculture, Honorary Life Members, FFA Advisor of the Year, Post-Secondary Educator of the Year, Minnesota Farm Bureau Foundation Scholarship recipients, County Activities of Excellence and Membership Awards.
Nov. 19
8:45 a.m. - The closing General Session will feature remarks from MFBF President Dan Glessing along with guest speakers Blois Olson of WCCO Radio, and Veronica Nigh and Joby Young of the American Farm Bureau Federation. Winners of the Young Farmers & Ranchers competitions will also be announced.
At the conclusion of the general session the Board of Directors will meet to set priority issues for the organization heading into the 2023 legislative session.
President Dan Glessing, Vice President Carolyn Olson, Executive Director Karin Schaefer and other leadership will be available for interviews throughout the three days.
