New Leaders Shape Minnesota Corn Future

New Leaders Shape Minnesota Corn Future

By Scout Nelson

The Minnesota Corn Growers Association (MCGA) has announced its new leadership team for the 2025–26 term. The board welcomed four officers who will guide the organization in advancing corn farming and agricultural priorities across the state.

The leadership team will oversee the association’s focus on research, innovation, and opportunities for new uses of corn, including the growing potential of sustainable aviation fuel. Trade and government policy remain top areas of importance, as the board works to strengthen both domestic and international markets for Minnesota corn.

The team represents a wide range of farming backgrounds, reflecting the diversity of Minnesota agriculture. Each officer brings experience in crop production and agricultural leadership, ensuring a strong voice for farmers in decision-making and strategic planning. The board also continues to support initiatives that connect with consumers, enhance resource efficiency, and promote long-term sustainability.

Minnesota Corn’s Discovery & Development Team will remain central to exploring innovative projects and advancing the future of farming in the state. Collaboration with partners in education, agribusiness, and research institutions will also play an important role in meeting goals for the year.

Alongside the introduction of the new leadership, the board expressed its appreciation for the outgoing president’s service. His leadership has helped guide Minnesota Corn through key issues facing farmers, from market access to emerging environmental challenges. He will continue to contribute to the organization in his role as Past President and Chair of the Board.

As one board leader shared, “Our leadership team is committed to supporting Minnesota’s farmers through research, innovation, and strong advocacy.” The MCGA leadership team will now begin its work to represent farmers and support the growth of Minnesota’s agricultural industry.
