Seventeen Minnesota co-ops, gas stations and fuel companies are getting about one-third of the initial 25 million dollars in federal grants to upgrade their facilities to handle more domestically-produced biofuels.
There’s a total of 500 million dollars available, and U-S Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack says he’s “very confident” that Minnesota will continue to receive additional resources.
He says the grant program essentially can pay up to 75 percent of the cost of installing these dispensing systems and storage facilities.
