Craig Commends Lifting of Chinese Ban on U.S. Poultry
Minnesota Ag Connection - 11/20/2019

U.S. Rep. Angie Craig commended the Chinese government's decision to lift its ban on U.S. poultry and poultry products and reopen export markets for Minnesota farmers. The ban has been in place since 2015 in response to an avian influenza outbreak. Now, a market that generated approximately $15 million a year in sales for Minnesota will reopen.

"This decision is welcome news for the poultry farms in Minnesota's Second Congressional District," said Craig. "While this decision is an important step for our farmers, I hope to see the Administration continue to work toward a fair, robust trade relationship with China in the future and end this broader trade war."

In Congress, Craig sits on the House Agriculture Committee, where she works to bring the voices of Minnesota farmers to the halls of Congress by fighting to open export markets and end the current trade war.
