Dig into Soil Health and More at SFA's Midwest Summit
Minnesota Ag Connection - 02/11/2019

The Sustainable Farming Association's Midwest Soil Health Summit, set for 8 a.m.-4 p.m. March 12 at Gustavus Adolphus in St. Peter, Minn., will feature Dr. David Montgomery -- a soil scientist, MacArthur fellow, and author -- as well as multiple experts dedicated to improving the health of your soil.

With farmer panels, discussion tables and built-in networking time, the Midwest Soil Health Summit is the best place in Minnesota to learn the wonders and benefits of soil while networking with national thought leaders and local farmer experts. Come to the MSHS and get your questions answered. Also appearing at this one-day conference:

- Kristin Brennan, NRCS Assistant State Soil Scientist

- Jodi DeJong-Hughes, Minnesota Extension Educator

- Dr. Ann Marie Journey, Soil Health Coordinator (ACES)

- Thom Petersen, Commissioner, Minnesota Dept. of Agriculture

- Kent Solberg, SFA Livestock & Grazing Specialist

- Carissa Spencer, NRCS State Agronomist

- And a farmer panel featuring Jerry Ackermann, Grant Breitkreutz and Bruce Tiffany.

The MSHS will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and includes lunch and refreshments. Cost is just $50 for SFA members and $75 nonmembers.

Also, on March 11, SFA will also host a dinner and soil health overview for Professional Development Scholarship recipients. Scholarships are still available for ag service professionals to attend the MSHS. For more information on scholarships, contact Wayne Monsen at
