The following statement from the Minnesota Farm Bureau President Kevin Paap who attended the signing of a Phase 1 trade agreement with China and the U.S. at the White House Wednesday.
"A phase one agreement with China reopens a marketplace for Minnesota farmers and is a step towards normalized trade with a critical market for U.S. agriculture," said Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) President Kevin Paap.
"Reopening the door to trade with China and others is key to helping farmers and ranchers navigate current financial challenges in agriculture," said MFBF President Kevin Paap. "Minnesota Farm Bureau appreciates today's progress and encourages the
administration to continue to aggressively pursue a full trade agreement with China and move forward with protecting and expanding markets across the world."
