Farm Bureau, Politicians at Farmfest
Minnesota Ag Connection - 08/07/2018

The Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) will be among the nearly 500 companies displaying on over 50 acres of land at the 2018 Farmfest. Farmfest takes place Aug. 7-9 at the Gilfillan Estate in Redwood County, Minnesota. In addition, Gov. Mark Dayton will attend Minnesota FarmFest in Morgan (28269 Highway 67) to visit exhibit booths and speak with farmers.

At 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dayton will attend FarmFest. At 2 p.m., the governor will meet with community leaders in the City of Madelia at the Madelia Golf Course (116519 Christensen Drive) to discuss their recovery efforts following a fire that destroyed Main Street businesses in 2016.

Meanwhile, Congressman Keith Ellison will announce his plan to restore fairness in farming as attorney general. As Minnesota farmers have been hit by low prices and high costs in recent years, Ellison’s plan will detail how the attorney general can enforce state and federal laws to make Minnesota’s agricultural economy more fair to family farmers. Ellison will unveil his plan at noon Wednesday following the conclusion of the governor candidates' forum.

MFBF plans the following events during FarmFest:

The pouches are meant to provide an easy and effective way for rural residents to deactivate and dispose of unused prescriptions at home before they can be diverted to abuse.
