Affordable housing is a major concern across the nation and in Minnesota. There is a critical need for housing, particularly for low and extremely low renters. Housing disparities persist, housing costs continue to increase, and wages are not keeping up with housing costs. Agency staff and service providers concerned about affordable housing are invited to participate in this webinar. Staff from the National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC) and the MN Housing Partnership (MHP) will share data from the NLIHC's Out of Reach report and MHP's State of the State's Housing 2021 report. Resources and strategies to create and preserve housing and community assets will be introduced.
Presenters for the June 22 event from 1 to 2 p.m. are:
- Anne Mavity is the Executive Director of the Minnesota Housing Partnership.
- Emma Foley is a research analyst at the National Low Income Housing Coalition where she tracks and monitors the rollout of COVID-19 emergency rental assistance programs and conducts research on the needs of low-income renters.
The UMN Wellbeing Program Office of Human Resources is offering 200 well-being points per webinar. Participate in the live webinar or view an archived webinar to access these points. The process to earn well-being points will be shared during the webinar.
