Olinger Named Minnesota Beef Council Summer Intern

The Minnesota Beef Council (MBC) has added Grace Olinger to its team for the summer, filling the communications intern position. The internship involves an emphasis on expanding communication skills and assisting in the promotion efforts of beef. The main project of the intern is to coordinate the booth the MBC holds every year at the Minnesota State Fair along with other beef promotion projects such as blog writing and social media.

Olinger is from Yampa, Colo., and runs a flock of primarily purebred Southdown ewes with her family. Her background has provided a strong immersion in the agriculture and livestock industries in addition to being actively involved in 4-H, FFA, and livestock judging across the country.

Olinger is currently attending South Dakota State University studying Animal Science and will be a senior in the fall. She hopes to continue pursuing her education in grad school after receiving her undergrad degree.

"I am greatly looking forward to my summer with the Minnesota Beef Council," Olinger noted. "I believe the council provides a great environment to expand my work experience and knowledge of the agriculture industry. I hope my communication skills and the knowledge I have gained through my college coursework can serve as assets in addressing and collaborating on industry-relevant issues to promote success of the beef industry."

Olinger will be on board through Labor Day. She can be reached at intern@mnbeef.org or (763) 479-1011.
