Minnesota Corn, Wheat, Hay Stocks Down from 2020

Corn stored in all positions in Minnesota on December 1, 2021, totaled 1.23 billion bushels, down 8 percent from December 1, 2020, according to the latest USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service -- Grain Stocks report. Of the total stocks, 73 percent were stored on-farm. The September--November indicated disappearance totaled 276 million bushels, 19 percent below the 341 million bushels from the same quarter the previous year.

Soybeans stored in all positions in Minnesota on December 1, 2021, totaled 276 million bushels, up slightly from December 1, 2020. Of the total stocks, 58 percent were stored on-farm. Indicated disappearance for September--November 2021 was 109 million bushels, 23 percent below the 142 million bushels from the same quarter the previous year.

All wheat stored in all positions in Minnesota on December 1, 2021, totaled 55.6 million bushels, down 39 percent from December 1, 2020. Of the total stocks, 44 percent were stored onfarm. Indicated disappearance for September--November 2021 was 19.3 million bushels, up 169 percent from the 7.19 million bushels from the same quarter the previous year.

All hay stored on Minnesota farms as of December 1, 2021, was estimated at 1.46 million tons, down 35 percent from December 1, 2020, according to the latest USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service -- Crop Production report. Disappearance from May 1, 2021, through December 1, 2021, totaled 1.27 million tons, compared with 1.67 million tons for the same period in 2020.
